This is a short report I completed as part of my final year exams in Astrophysics at the University of York. It discusses the production of an image of supernovae SN1993J via aperture synthesis radio astronomy. Here, I employ the APSYNTRU programme to produce my image from real data acquired from the High Sensitivity Array.
I am quite proud of this report, particularly of the quality of the figures throughout. APSYNTRU is a remarkable piece of software and good fun to experiment with to get a feel for true experimental radio astronomy.
